Shark vs. Prey Game
I think if you had to give an example of someone that is horrible at all things technology, it would be me. When I saw we had to create a game I was immediately not looking forward to this week of actually having to do it. I looked through the different options embedded in our course schedule before deciding to go with Scratch. I watched the tutorial and played around before deciding to make a simple game. Normally when I am looking to play a game online, I go for something simple as I find it to be a soothing study break that doesn’t require much brain power. I originally wanted to make some sort of game like Pac-Man where it was a type of maze but I couldn’t figure out how to get started with that one. So I looked at all of the backgrounds on Scratch and liked the sea background. When I looked at all of the sprite animal options, I realized that I would be able to something with the shark and the many fish options!
So I made the simple game of having the shark follow the fish around in the water until it eats them! The only difficult part that I had was allowing the fish to move during the game and disappear when the shark touched them. I have them moving but it seems as though you have to allow the fish to move for the appropriate time I set movement to before the shark will eat them. All you have to do is hit the green flag and then move your cursor around to the fish until they are all gone.
I hope it is the type of simple game that allows for a brain break like I was aiming for!
